Chesterfield Schools Art Exhibition Sat 21 & Sun 22 October

The talented students of Secondary Schools across Chesterfield once again displayed their artwork in St Andrew’s Church Hall. Despite the unprecedented heavy rainfall and serious flooding in Chesterfield, 5 of the 6 schools managed to get their artwork to the church undamaged. Some are the work of A-level exam students, while others show younger students testing out their skills in paint, drawing, craft and photography. The exhibition is sponsored by Chesterfield Rotary Club and St Andrew’s United Reformed Church. Certificates were presented at the opening ceremony in the church to students from all the schools whose work is displayed and students, parents and friends braved the aftermath of the floods to support them.

The exhibition was open on Saturday 21st October and the afternoon of Sunday 22nd October when a steady stream of visitors came to admire the work.

St Andrew’s Sunday service followed at 4.30pm when the preacher was Revd Sue Powell, who lead worship framed by a stunning portrait and a more than life size robot, Optimus Prime!
