We are a friendly, lively and inclusive congregation of 40-50 people, of all ages from a few months old to 98 years – and counting! Some of our members live in locally, some in other parts of Chesterfield and others in nearby villages and towns. We worship weekly at 11.00am and you can find out who is preaching each week by going to the calendar. We have a small Junior Church which meets with the congregation at the start of the service and then goes out to their own group. To learn more about our worship go to: worship. As well as Sunday worship we hold a monthly Messy Church for all ages, Bible Studies and payers for healing and wholeness. As a United Reformed Church, our church is managed by the Elders, with support from the officers of the East Midlands Synod of which we are a part. We have a pastoral care team responsible for the care and support of members. We take Safeguarding seriously and you can find our policy in Safeguarding.

St Andrew’s is the Resource Church for the North and West Derbyshire Resource Area, consisting of 6 churches with which we share a minister. We are a silver Eco-church and are committed to protecting the environment both in our own buildings and garden and also around the world as a Commitment for Life church. We are a Children and Youth Friendly Church and hope shortly to appoint a Children and Families Outreach Worker.
Our large hall hosts many different activities on weekdays throughout the year, including exercise classes for different ages, badminton, children’s activities, Scouts and private children’s parties. You can find out about them in St Andrew’s Regular events.
The church was founded in 1931 by a group from St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church of England and at first worshipped in hired premises. They purchased a plot of land in Newbold on which to build a church, but the Second World War and post-war building restrictions delayed construction until 1953, when the present church was built. Halls were added gradually over the next 20 years and the present set of premises has a large hall, meeting rooms, kitchen and toilets as well as the sanctuary, together with two Scout Huts in the grounds.
