Junior Church
Every Sunday morning for children of all ages. Come to church at 11.00am and after 15 minutes the children go to their own class with their leaders. Bible stories, prayers and craft work. All leaders are DBS checked.
Messy Church
St Andrew’s introduced Messy Church at the end of 2023. We continue to hold Messy Church every month, apart from August. We meet in the church hall on Monday from 4.00 to 5.45pm. Check the calendar for dates.
We have a faithful number attending each session of around 22-25 representing all ages of 3 to 83 years!! Anyone may come along whether they attend church on a Sunday or not.
Each themed gathering follows a similar pattern of interactive games, storytelling and craft activities followed by a cooked tea. The session finishes with a game before we go home. A light touch Christian theme runs through the various activities.
We have a regular team of leaders (Don and Alison Nichols, Liz Sharples, Nicola Handley) who are all DBS checked plus numerous helpers and we have been pleased to welcome two teams from Cliff College who have a led a session each.
Bible Studies and Reflections
Sessions are usually held on Thursday mornings from 11.00am to 1.00pm, often followed by a shared lunch. Meetings are held during Advent and Lent and in the summer sessions are sometimes held in the evening if enough people request them. Meetings are held in the Michael Room – access via the hall door. Check the calendar for dates..
Prayers for Healing
We meet at 2.00pm on 2nd Wednesday of the month, except in December.
Food bank
Worshippers are invited to bring supplies weekly to help the Chesterfield Food Bank. A special collection is held at the Scout Parade at the Harvest Service when the children, together with the congregation, bring donations of tinned and packaged food to donate during the service. Regular special collections are also held several times a year, with coffee and tea served in the church. These are advertised on the church noticeboard and in the calendar, with lists of the food and household supplies required.
The Guild
Afternoon meeting on the last Wednesday of the month at 2.30pm. Speakers and activities. Mainly church members but all are welcome, including men as well as women.
